　　40．“偶尔”不能写作“偶而”。
　　41．“砂”和“沙”意思相同，但在“砂布”“砂纸”“砂轮”“砂岩”等词中，通常写成“砂”。
　　42．面向公众说明某项事情的文字，应该用“启事”，如“招领启事”。
　　43．“起用”与“启用”。“起用”多用于与人有关，如“起用一代新人”；“启用”一般用于与物有关，如“新船闸启用”。
　　44．“权力”与“权利”。“权力”是指地位和职责带来的控制力量；“权利”有与“义务”相对的意义，如“著作权”“选举权”。
　　45．“气”与“汽”。凡与自然状态下的各种气体有关的词语，一般用“气”。凡与非自然状态下的各种气体有关的词语，一般用“汽”。液体变成气体叫“汽化”，不能写作“气化”。“气化”是中医学的专门术语，指人体三焦之气的运行变化。“蒸汽”指水蒸气，“蒸气”指的是液体或固体因蒸发、沸腾或升华而变成的气体，如“水蒸气”。 “暖气”指把蒸汽或热水通过管道输送到建筑物内的散热器中，散出热气，使室温增高。“汽暖”则是指上述供暖方式。
　　把煤气压缩成液体，称“液化气”；“汽水”“汽酒”却用“汽”。这几种情形，不很合字的本义，但因为人们使用中约定俗成而定型的。
　　46．“七月流火”中的“火”是星名，即心宿，每年农历五月间黄昏时心宿在中天，六月以后，渐渐偏西，这时暑热开始减退。这个成语专指天气快凉了，不要误用它来表示“暑热难熬”。
　　47．“熔”、“融”和“溶”。“熔”指固体受热变成液体，“融”特指冰雪等受热变成液体，“溶”是指物质在液体里化开。
　　48．“擅长”不要写作“善长”。
　　49．“生”与“身”。“终生”多指事业，如“终生当医生”；“终身”多指切身的事，如“终身受益”。“亲生”指有生育关系的，如“亲生子女”；“亲身”指自己，如“亲身经历”。“出生”指生下来，如“出生于１９９５年”；“出身”指个人早期的经历和身份，如“出身农民家庭”。
　　50．“蒜薹”“菜薹”不要写作“蒜苔”、“菜苔”。“苔”是指长在潮湿地方的一种隐花植物。“薹”字没有简化，“苔”字不是它的简化字。　
　　51．“诵读”不能写作“颂读”。
　　52．“授予”、“授于”的角度是不同的。向某某人或单位颁发某项奖励和荣誉，用“授予”。
　　53．“通信”与“通讯”。不论采用何种手段传递信息，都叫“通信”。而“通讯”的意思，一是指利用电码传递消息，如“通讯社”“通讯网”；二是指一种新闻体裁。“通讯员”指报刊、电台等约请为其经常写作新闻报道的非专业人员；“通信员”指部队、机关中传送公文信件的人员。　
　　54．“位”作为量词用于人时，含有敬意，因此，不能用于坏人、罪犯、敌对势力等场合。同理，一般也不用于第一人称，如“我们两位来主持会议”的说法是不合适的。
　　55．“诬蔑”与“污蔑”。“诬”有“讠”旁，指用语言文字捏造事实损害别人名誉，如“造谣诬蔑”。“污”原指浑浊的水，后来泛指脏东西。如果说“污蔑好人”，所指的重点不在于“捏造事实”，而在于使用“污辱性的言语”。“侮蔑”表示轻视、蔑视。
　　56．没有“无所是从”这个成语，“无所适从”不能写作“无所是从”。
　　57．“像”和“象”。据国家语委１９８６年重新发表《简化字总表》的说明，“像”不再作为“象”的繁体字处理，《现代汉语词典》据此规定：“象……一样”，现在应写作“像……一样”。
　　“像”指用模仿、比照等方法制成的人或物的形象，如“画像”“录像”“偶像”“人像”“神像”“塑像”“图像”“肖像”“绣像”“遗像”“影像”“摄像”等，都是人工做成的；“象”指自然界、人或物的形态、样子，如“表象”“病象”“形象”“脉象”“气象”“景象”“天象”等，都是自然表现出来的。
　　“像”“象”“相”。这方面的用字，由于历史形成的原因，比较乱。“照相机”用“相”；照出的东西用“像片”。“摄像机”“录像机”用“像”。“假象”“真相”所用的字均不同。
　　58．“泄”与“泻”。“泄”是指气体或液体从封闭的物体中流出，有漏出的意思，如“泄漏”、“泄洪”；也引申为透露、抒发的意思。“泻”是指大量液体急速流动，也指情感等连续、强烈地表达。　　
　　59．“形”与“型”。“形”的本义指形体、形象，也可指形状、样子、实体，还可指表现、显露，如“形影不离”“字形”“地形”“图形”“圆形”“喜形于色”。“型”的本义是指铸造器物的模子，引申出式样、类型、楷模、法式的意思，如“新型”“型号”。“原形”是指原来的形状，引申为本来的面目，如“原形毕露”。“原型”特指文艺作品中塑造人物形象所依据的现实生活中的人。
　　60．“醒悟”与“省悟”。“醒悟”多指在外界作用下觉醒过来，变得清楚。“省悟”的“省”有反省的意思，因此多指经过自省、内省、反省而明白、觉悟过来。
　　61．“树阴”“林阴道”的“阴”可否写作“荫”，《现代汉语词典》的解释与《现代汉词规范字典》的解释不一。《规范字典》明确提出，“树荫”“林荫道”应写作“树阴”“林阴道”。我们发稿中两种写法都应可以用，但同一篇稿件内以统一用法为宜。在“柳荫街”“柳荫公园”等固定地名中，只用“荫”。
　　62．“帐”与“账”。表示“财物出入的记载”和“债”的义项时，不能写作“帐”，应写作“账目”“账号”。
　　63．“州”和“洲”。“州”一般用作行政单位。“洲”是指河流中的陆地，如“绿洲”“沙洲”；又是大陆及附近岛屿的统称，如“亚洲”。“苏州”“自治州”的“州”不要写成“洲”。
　　64．“装潢”与“装璜”。“潢”是指颜色，“璜”是指一种玉。用于表示房屋装修等，一般用“装潢”。
　　65．“住”和“驻”。“住”泛指居住，“驻”特指为执行公务而留住某地。
　　66．“作”和“做”。表示动作行为意义的“作”、“做”的大致区别是：抽象意义词语、书面词语多写作“作”，如“作文”、“作对”、“作罢”、“作怪”、“作战”。具体东西的制造写成“做”，如“做桌子”、“做衣服”、“做饭”。“作为一个领导干部”不能写作“做为一个领导干部”。“做贼心虚”不能写作“作贼心虚”。“作贡献”和“做贡献”这两种用法，目前并行于各种文字场合，但国家语委的汉语规范化专家们倾向于推荐使用“做贡献”，原因是“贡献”是具体的东西。
　　67．“侦察”与“侦查”。“侦察”常用于军事、作战等方面，“侦查”常用于公安、检察、司法等部门以及与破案有关的方面。“侦察”着重于察看，从观察中来了解情况；“侦查”着重于调查，从检查中来了解情况。
　　68．“诸”就是“之于”的意思，“公之于众”不要写作“公诸于众”。
　　69．“坐落”不要写作“座落”。
　　70．现在多用“人才”，不用“人材”。
　　71不要使用已废除的、非法定的计量单位。用“厘米”，不用“公分”；用“升”，不用“公升”；用“米”，不用“英尺”；用“海里”，不用“浬”；用“千瓦”，不用“瓩”。　
　　72标序号时：“第一”、“其次”后面，用逗号。“一”、“二”后面，用顿号。“１”、“２”和“Ａ”、“Ｂ”后面用齐线墨点“．”。序号如加括号，后面不加逗号、顿号。
　　73表示温度时，用“２５摄氏度”、“零下２５摄氏度”，不能用“摄氏２５度”、“零下摄氏２５度”。
